This Starter Kit was designed to work as a simple command line build tool to help Java developers deploy their applications to the Windows Azure cloud. It uses Apache Ant as part of the build process, and includes an Ant extension that’s capable of understanding Window Azure configuration options. The Windows Azure Starter Kit for Java is an open source project released under the Apache 2.0 license.

See the tutorial at http://java.interoperabilitybridges.com/articles/deploying-a-java-application-to-windows-azure-with-command-line-ant

(Note: if you're an Eclipse user, get the "Windows Azure Plugin for Eclipse with Java (by Microsoft Open Technologies)", which builds on top of this Starter Kit - see the tutorials at: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=236078)

NOTE: This project has moved to https://github.com/MSOpenTech/WindowsAzureToolkitForEclipseWithJava (under StarterKit). The binary downloads at this CodePlex location remain up to date but the sources are from the previous releases and for now will be kept as an archive. All new source changes can be found in the aforementioned GitHub project.
